THE BIMRABLAB IN THE BALENGEBOUW (ROOMBEEK)
Roombeek is the area of Enschede that was completely destroyed during the huge fireworks disaster of May 13 in 2000. The Projectburo Wederopbouw Roombeek is in charge of the ressurrection of this formerly pretty popular and lively district. In the Balengebouw (Schurinksweg 97, 7523 AP Enschede), originally a textile-storage warehouse and one of the very few buildings that more or less survived the blast, they offer space to all sorts of entrepreneurs that can connect the pioneering new inhabitants of the area with lively (sub)cultural activities.
Between September 19 and 29 DAI & BIMRAB will use the two floors of the Balengebouw as our workingspace.
