Barbara Philipp - The Philosopher’s Stone
Description/Set up of the monument:
With the help of thermografic cameras the human energies of the I. Newton room
in De Horst building will be transferred to the philospher’s stone, at the entrance
area of the De Horst building. With the play of colours it is possible to see the activity
in the Newton room. The young students and their ideas stand as a metaphor for
the refreshing eternal spirit in science and the human evolution in the world.
Manual/Materials:
1.) Thermografic cameras will be installed in the Newton room.
2.) A computer program will transform the information of the heat into colors of
the philosopher's stone.
3.) A multifaceted sculpture of frosted plastic forms the philosopher’s stone. A
light source inside changes color according to the number of people in the Newton
room.
