Mr. Osman Kavala of Anadolu Kültür invited DAI to participate in the symposium ‘A Consumption of Justice’ and to do the DAI presentation only on a very short notice. He managed to organize our participation after a short meeting in İstanbul.
Start of the building up of the DAI presentation at the DAC.

Kor Smeenge his work is still somewhere in the belly of a plane -but not at the Black Sea. Gamze is taking care of it and Kor is trying not to show his disappointment. The work of one year of labour and investment is somewhere in the air.
All students cooperate to make it a excellent presentation.
It was a day of hard work, and with few people being able to speak a language we all understand. But thanks to help of Veysel and Gamze we managed to get things right.
During the day Bassam Al Khouri talked about his work to Beral Madra and showed some of his video works to her. She was enthusiastic about the work and invited Bassam to participate in the exhibition ‘A Consumption of Justice’. So pitiful Bassam would stay till the opening on May 1st in Diyarbakır, and not immediately joining us to Deyrulzafaran. For Bassam it was a good occasion to meet artist from the region and to show his work and to be in the catalogue, which will be published after the exhibition.
For dinner we were invited by Melike Coşkun (the director of the DAC).

Veysel walked us back to the hotel and at the moment of saying goodnight, we had our first Diyarbakırian black out. But the hotel, and as we saw in the street a lot of other businesses, had their own power generators automatically switched on.
