Kor Smeenge: Guverçin

Not speaking one word for an hour making feathers. Occasional ‘humms’ and and ‘Hayir’ telling we were doing just fine in getting our lack of language out of the way. Guverçin is the Turkish word for pigeon as I found out. We’d been communicating for some days through sheets of paper slowly filling itself with every word we spoke. I don›t know why I wanted to anymore, but communicating through our hands told something about the guverçin itself.
Afterwards the pigeon stayed in Mor Yakup, although I wasn’t able to hand it to Daniel myself. He left a few days earlier to see his family. Most of the boys stay for weeks here before going back for a few days. The tiniest of smiles telling he would appreciate it showed in the face of the nun Nona is sitting in the back muttering a bit… I think she didn’t really agree with the trash content of the guverçin.
