The installation ‘Undergound’ is a site-specific work in the vicinity of the Mor Yakup monestary near Midyat. We utilised one of the many caves in the area which were used frequently by sheepherders and possibly guerilla’s as an overnight shelter.
After installing the fake, Ed Wood-like antenna, we caught the attention of the Turkish army, which thought it was a real satellite antenna and called the monastery where we were staying to ask for an explanation.
