Initially my idea was to make a series of paintings which would be based on the restrictions that resulted out of the answers that children gave me on rather formal questions.
With this idea in mind I visited a school, together with Bruno and Louisa. The children, whom I spoke with, I selected on ethnical ground. Like I foresaw in advance their origin was in no way mirrored in their answers and this was exactly what I wanted to forward.
Not the subject nor the fact but my inescapable angle (and with me, so many others) to perceive other cultures. This perfect example of blinding politically correct thinking. From a classifying perspective I thought to be able to move to a more personal kind of portraying.
